National Grid electricity works will affect Canterbury Drive between 27th January and 21st March. Part of Canterbury Drive will be closed during this period.
Work to install new high voltage underground cables will commence on Monday 27th January 2025 and all works, including the connections will be complete by close of play on Friday 21st March. This work is required to reinforce and safeguard electricity supplies to the Washingborough/Heighington area.
Affected properties should have received a letter, informing them of these works and where they will take place.
The cable will be installed in the footpath where possible, but if other utilities have already installed their equipment there, the cable will be installed in the carriageway.
Whilst these works are being carried there will be a road closure. The closure will affect Canterbury Drive from the junction with Durham Crescent to a point between the junctions of Wentworth Close and Troon Close.
Whilst this road is closed to through traffic, access will always be available to each property and everyone will always have access to their property, but there may be some short delays.
All works have been agreed with Lincolnshire Highways.
When the drive/ access to the properties are crossed, the staff carrying out the excavations will endeavour to contact everyone before carrying out any excavations. Once the excavation has been carried out, the trench will be temporary reinstated/ plated to give access.
