On Thursday 2 May 2024 an election is taking place to choose Lincolnshire’s Police & Crime Commissioner. To vote at a polling station, you will need photo ID with you.
A wide range of photo ID will be accepted, including passports, driving licences, bus passes and cards with a PASS Mark.
If you don’t have what’s needed, you can apply for a free voter ID document known as a Voter Authority Certificate. Visit www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voting-and-elections/voter-id, call 0800 328 0280, or scan the QR code to find out more, including:
- The full list of accepted forms of photo ID
- How to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate (if you need one). The deadline to apply for a ‘Voter Authority Certificate’ for the Police & Crime Commissioner election is 5pm on 24 April 2024
- How to register to vote and how to apply for a postal vote
These changes apply to all elections going forward. An election can be called at any time and it is important to have what you need in place, to ensure you can vote whenever you are able to vote: making sure you are registered to vote and that you have the necessary photo ID or a Voter Authority Certificate to hand.
