Network Rail will be undergoing tree management work in Heighington, around the railway line between Sheepwash Lane and Washingborough Road.
This is required due to Ash Dieback, which is a serious condition leading to the decline and death of ash trees, specifically close to the railway. Teams will be working on 10th, 11th, 18th, 24th – 29th September, overnight when no trains will be running. Access will be gained onto third party land via Sheepwash Lane. Chainsaws, chipping machines, a long-reach crane and on-track machinery will be used. Log and branch piles will be created where possible, to encourage biodiversity, but some logs and branches may need to be removed from site. Noise will be minimised as much as possible however some disruption will be unavoidable. Local residents likely to be directly impacted will be contacted by Network Rail.
