Week Two: “Mum, I’m bored!” If this is the cry in your house, Heighington Bowls Club may have the answer - well for an hour a week until the end of the holidays anyway - and all for free.

Heighington Bowls Club will be running free bowling sessions for local youngsters between 8 and 15 years old. The sessions will run from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm every Friday afternoon, starting on 2nd August. The Club will be offering some bowling games and challenges as well as letting youngsters bowl to try and hit the jack.

Laurence Creasey, Club President said, “A lot of children who came to the Club’s Open Days in June really enjoyed having a go, some of whom showed a lot of promise. We don’t want that early promise and enthusiasm to go to waste, so we are keen to try and find bowlers of the future whilst giving them some fun.

Andrea White, Club Chair said, “We hope to enthuse Heighington youngsters about our fantastic sport - and you never know the parents might want to have a go as well. We’d love children to come along to try something completely different.”
