Employment Committee minutes - 13/05/24

The Employment Committee meeting was held on Monday 13th May 2024 at 6.00pm in the Jubilee Hall, High Street, Heighington.

There were no members of the public present.

 

Public Participation 

There were no comments.

 

001/E/24 To elect a Chair for this meeting

Cllr Rushby proposed, Cllr Watkinson seconded, and it was resolved for Cllr George to chair the meeting.

 

002/E/24 To receive apologies for absence, these having been submitted to the Clerk prior to the meeting

There were none.

 

003/E/24 To note that the minutes of the last Employment Committee meeting held on 9th October 2023 were approved at the Full Council meeting on 13th November 2024.

This was noted.

 

004/E/24 To receive Declarations of Interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and receive Requests for Dispensations

There were none.

 

005/E/24 CLOSED SESSION. To resolve to move into closed session in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 for the following staffing items on the grounds that publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.

It was proposed by Cllr Watkinson, seconded by Cllr Rushby and resolved to move into closed session.

 

006/E/24 To receive feedback from staff appraisals and make recommendations to Full Council as required. 

It was proposed by Cllr George, seconded by Cllr Rushby and resolved to recommend to Full Council the award of discretionary increments as per the supporting report.

 

007/E/24 To consider a review of the Clerk’s job description.

It was proposed by Cllr Watkinson, seconded by Cllr George and resolved for the clerk to prepare a draft updated job description, to be brought back to Employment Committee in September for consideration.

 

008/E/24 To review a staffing matter and make a recommendation to Full Council as required.

A staffing matter was discussed. It was proposed by Cllr George, seconded by Cllr Trafford and resolved to make a recommendation to Full Council. 

 

The meeting closed at 6:42 pm.
