September 2025 minutes

The Employment Committee meeting of Heighington Parish Council was held on Monday 6th October 2025 at 6.30pm in the Jubilee Hall, High Street, Heighington.

There were no members of the public present.

 

Public Participation 

There were no comments.

 

010/E/25 To receive and accept apologies, where valid reasons for absence have been submitted to the Clerk prior to the meeting

There were none.

 

011/E/25 To approve the notes of the last Employment Committee meeting held on 2nd June 2025, and for these to be signed by the Employment Committee chair as the formal minutes.

It was proposed by Cllr Watkinson, seconded by Cllr Trafford and resolved to approve the minutes. These were duly signed by the committee chair.

 

012/E/25 To receive Declarations of Interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and receive Requests for Dispensations

There were none.

 

013/E/25 CLOSED SESSION. To resolve to move into closed session in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 for the following staffing items on the grounds that publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.

It was proposed by Cllr Watkinson, seconded by Cllr Yeates and resolved to move into closed session.

 

014/E/25 To receive feedback from the Clerk’s appraisal (held in July) and agree any actions required. 

It was proposed by Cllr Watkinson, seconded by Cllr Trafford and resolved to circulate notes and the Clerk’s comments to those involved in the appraisal, for agreement, prior to circulation to the rest of the Employment Committee.

 

015/E/25 To receive feedback following a review of the General Assistant’s job description and agree any actions required. 

It was proposed by Cllr Yeates, seconded by Cllr Watkinson and resolved to make a recommendation to Full Council regarding a revised title (to Administrative Assistant), job description, salary range (SCP 6 – SCP 9) and approval of 1 SCP increment, backdated to June 2025.

 

The meeting closed at 6:50 pm.
